Rederij De Jordaan in Amsterdam has been founded by Reinhard Adriaanz Spronk and Miloe Van Bodegraven in 2014. The company has two classic saloon boats, named the Farahilde (from 1908), and the Welmoed (from 1932).

Reinhard Spronk | Captain

Miloe van Bodegraven | Captain and Singer

Reinhard has lived the first 18 years of his life on the bottom of the Zuiderzee. He has gone to school in the Free Hanseatic City Elburg and decided at the age of 18, along with friend Hermen Hulst, to look beyond the bottom of the sea. They sailed by Pelni boats along the Indonesian islands to West Timor. Captain Reinhard studied geography, history and philosophy in Amsterdam, San Francisco and London. Reinhard has a lot to tell about Amsterdam and has lived in De Jordaan neighbourhood for 21 years.

Miloe was born in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, like her ancestors who lived at various locations along the Amstel River. Miloe is an artist and works as an actress and singer. She is also musical teacher at the University of Amsterdam. Miloe is captain and you can request for her to sing on board.

Miloe and Reinhard met at the foot of the Heineken Factory and got to know each other better that same evening at the classic rock temple Paradiso… and the rest is history.

Reinhard & Miloe have travelled throughout 122 countries, survived a crash with a hot air balloon; as well as the black storms at sea near the Philippines on Christmas Eve 1999. On 31 December of that very same year, on the island of Boracay, Reinhard was officially elected by the BBC, live broadcasted around the world, as “The Best Beer Drinker of the Millennium”.
